Both Ford Mustang models deliver exhilaration on demand. Both are aggressively styled, and packed with advanced features and assistive technologies. The Mustang Mach 1 further benefits from significant improvements with the new front aero, splitter, and approach angle increasing aerodynamic performance. Along with a new belly pan providing significant extra downforce for traction and stability when cornering.
The 5.0-litre V8 Mach 1 engine is capable of a colossal 460 PS and 529 Nm [390 ft/lb] of torque, and a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds in the automatic and 4.8 seconds in the manual. So the question is, how serious about performance are you?
BEAST BENEATH THE BONNET
Powering the Mustang GT is an improved version of the Mustang’s renowned 5.0-litre V8 engine, which incorporates dual fuel injection technology for enhanced performance. While the Mustang Mach 1 has a fearsome, specially modified and calibrated 5.0L V8, capable of an outstanding 460 PS at 7,250 rpm and 529 Nm [390 ft/lb] of torque at 4,900 rpm.
The GT comes with either a smooth and responsive 6-speed manual or a sophisticated 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Mach 1 Tremec 6-speed manual transmission has been tested to Boss 302 track endurance standards, and the 10-speed auto has been upgraded with a new torque converter, supporting optimized torque capability and performance.
ROAR ON DEMAND
Reaching 0-62 mph in a rapid 4.4 seconds, the new Mustang Mach 1 delivers rip-roaring performance. A new cooling system, precision steering and an improved chassis ensure an exhilarating drive. It even has a unique exhaust system, tuned to match its uncompromising character. Like the Mustang GT, the Mach 1 features Active Valve Exhaust technology which lets you control the sound. So you can dial up the roar with Race Track mode or tone it down with Quiet mode.
